BoB - Classic Novels pre 1900

BoB the book club is officially official. We discussed books that were published pre 1900, J won the prize for the oldest book, by reading Confucius. (551 bc) We discussed how interesting it was thinking about how some of these books were the mass media releases of their time, how like we wait in line over night for the latest Harry Potter movie, or Wicked Tickets. Back then Don Quixote was the blockbuster of the time. We also talked about literary styles, the four we reviewed couldn't be any more different. DQ was filled with run on sentences, Iron Mask was detailed down to the last button. (no moving picture...or HD... to show details). I'm excited by the variety in books and span of years! See you next month.

I would so love to be part of a book club. How many people in your group?

Please tell me you discuss literature over chamomile tea and scones. Maybe little cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off. :)
