The Blue Castle - L.M Montgomery

Enjoyability: ++
Rating: S, This is in the Adult Genre but is clean

Remember that feeling you had the first time you read Anne of Green Gables?
Blue Castle is by the same author, so expect the best.
First time I heard about this it was referred to me by the Weston Girls. The cover looks a little Harlequin, and the name a little cheezy. So I'll be honest, I have had it in my 'to read' pile for about 6 months. Finally I figured, the Westons never led me astray before so.........
I read it in one sitting. It started slow, but in a good way. But 2 or 3 chapters in and I was entranced. I was laughing out loud. I actually put myself in her place a few times. Its really short but a lot is packed into those few pages. And the thing I found most interesting is that the feeling, or aura you have at the beginning of the book is vastly different from where it leaves you in the end.

Summary
At twenty-nine Valancy had never been in love, and it seemed romance had passed her by. Living with her overbearing mother and meddlesome aunt, she found her only consolations in the "forbidden" books of John Foster and her daydreams of the Blue Castle. Then a letter arrived from Dr. Trent -- and Valancy decided to throw caution to the winds. For the first time in her life Valancy did and said exactly what she wanted. Soon she discovered a surprising new world, full of love and adventures far beyond her most secret dreams.
