Fairy Tale Spin Offs

This month we read books that had an original plot of a well known Fairy Tale. If you look for children's picture books, there is just no limit to what you can find. Mom has an extensive collection of Cinderella-esque books, its nothing short of impressive. I was going to list a few others but i just would not know when to stop.

But the adult books came through as well...

"Someday you will be old enough to start reading Fairy Tales again" - CS Lewis

A retelling of sleeping beauty set in turn of the century London. With modern themes but in keeping with the original plot. not a children's book, very adult themes (nothing immoral!)
Part of the Elemental Masters series, all which take on a different fairy tale.

Two sister princesses charged with saving the world. the outgoing and brave sister gets sick and can not help, sot he meek and shy sister must be brave and save mankind.

Retelling of Robin Hood, and with the story of how Robin became Robin Hood the outlaw. - Most of Robin's books are Fairy Tale take offs.

Believing in magic also means believing in yourself and others. Another Sleeping Beauty retake

We seem to have a theme, Orson Scott Card takes a stab at retelling Sleeping Beauty. A NY Russian Jew who is studying Russian Fairy Tales and Returns to his homeland and actually lives one.

Cinderella retelling - dreams don't always come true the way you think they will

A princess who turns away suitors and turns them in to frogs

A western take on a Cinderfella story with a cow fairy godmother

Cinderella is remade more than any other I think!

Gail is masterful at the fair tails, this one is her princess and the pea story.
